Nokia’s N-Gage Games Platform Finally Lands
Nokia has launched its exciting N-Gage games platform with three new cutting-edge games; and the promise of 0 new titles by 2009.
Initially launched a few years ago as a specialist gaming phone, Nokia has repackaged and relaunched the N-Gage brand as a gaming platform which can be played on its Nseries phones including the Nokia N95 and N95 8GB, N81 and the N82.
The manufacturer will be pre-loading the N-Gage handsets but is can also be downloaded to other Nseries phones from www.n-gage.com.
Handsets like the Nokia N93, N93i and N73 will soon be capable of downloading the software via the N-Gage website.
Nokia said there should be 30 titles available for download by mid-2008, with 60 available by 2009. Title available now include Asphalt 3: Street Rules, Hooked On: Creatures of the Deep, Brain Challenge and System Rush: Evolution.
Many of the games are free to trial and cost £6 to £8 for the full version.
Toshiba announces G810 Touch-screen Smartphone
Toshiba has returned to the smartphone market in style with a stunning slimline, touch-screen handset.
The new Portege G810 smartphone looks swish and comes crammed with top-end features, and is also one of the first devices to house the new Windows 6.1 operating system.
Toshiba’s previous smartphones have been a little on the bulky side, but the new G810 is a svelte handset with a sleek finish.
As well as a large 2.8 inch QVGA touch-screen, the G810 (not to be confused with Samsung’s new five megapixel camera phone of the same name), boasts HSUPA and HSDPA data speeds, a 3.1 megapixel camera, as well as GPS for sat nav and personal navigation.
