Regular launches of new, increasingly expensive models can be annoying, especially when all you want is a cheap mobile phone; customers that only require a basic model will find they can still obtain them if they look carefully. Almost everyone uses a mobile phone now and there are almost no age barriers for their use; try as I might, I cannot image a world without this device.

Call only facilities would be very unusual on today’s cheap mobile phones, on even the most very basic but if that is all you need then you won’t mind. The most important thing to check with a basic phone is whether or not you will get a strong signal because if this is the only reason you need it for, it is also the most important.
You will probably find you will be able to send and receive text message but will not come equipped with all the new SMS functions. Still even the most basic model phones will have a good text messaging facility by early model standards.
However, the likes of sending and receiving emails may not be possible and when you think about it how often would you use it anyway? As a basic cheap mobile phone may not have this ability so if it is something you really need, you may have to re-think what type of phone you require.
Another option available to you is if you can find a reasonable monthly mobile phone plan, then you may not need to look for a cheap model at all. This is a viable option as mobile phone plan deals happen all the time, especially when they want to make room for the latest models. Finding a package such as this means the thought of searching for a basic phone will be a thing of the past.
