The annual Mobile World Congress, held in Barcelona, has awarded the coveted “Phone of the Year” award to the 3 network for the INQ1 (pronounced ink one).
This mobile phone has been heralded for its easy access menus to Facebook, Skype and Windows Messenger, plus the brilliant value of £15 per month including unlimited mobile internet usage, unlimited test messages, unlimited 3 to 3 calls and 75 cross-network minutes. With its great looks offering an additional plus point this phone simply cannot be beaten and looks set to sell well through the course of 2009.
3 Reveals News of a New Facebook Phone
After teasing existing customers with text messages about a new and exciting development with Facebook, 3 have finally revealed that they are set to launch a new Facebook phone.
The parent company of 3, Hutchinson Whampoa, are to launch the INQ1, a handset created by the makers of the Skypephone.
It is set to be a sliding phone, which provides the user with fast access to popular sites such as Facebook and Skype, as well as offering a wealth of social networking features. Facebook in particular will be a deeply integrated application.
Just like the Skypephone, the INQ1 will be exclusive to 3 at its launch.
Few other details have yet been revealed, but it is believed that unlike other social networking phones, the INQ1’s home screen will automatically display new photos that the users friends post on their Facebook profiles. The device is sure to offer fast internet access to Skype, email, instant messaging on top of its social networking capabilities.
